Ernesto is a South Texas Native. He grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas Pan-American in 2014. During his years as an undergrad, Ernesto worked at a boys and girls club, helping disadvantaged youth participate in afterschool sport activities.  

Ernesto is currently finishing his last year at Texas Tech School of Law and anticipates graduating May 2018. Ernesto serves as an Articles Editor of the Texas Tech Law review and as President of the Energy Law Interest Group. Most recently, Ernesto has worked as a law clerk for the City Attorney’s Office in McAllen Texas and as a Law Clerk at the Lanier Law Firm in Houston, Texas. In addition to working with Austin, Ernesto has worked for Professor Gerry W. Beyer as a research assistance. Ernesto has been acknowledged in some of Professor Beyer’s publications including the following: Beyer’s Property Code Annotated (2017), West’s Texas Forms on Real Property 2017, and West’s Texas Forms on Administration of Estates and Guardianships.
